Donations Fund a Community Service Project to Honor Eric's Memory
Each year, Teen Leadership Corps (TLC) students from 25 partner high schools will submit a community service project that reflects causes that Eric cared about: military, veterans, police, fire, animal welfare, homeless people, and especially treating others with respect and kindness no matter who they are, what they look like, where they're from, etc. TLC and the Ward Family will review the projects and select the winning TLC class. Grant funds will be awarded to that class so they can complete their project. Teen Leadership Corps' partners include Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Cavaliers, Cedar Point, Pepperidge Farm, NOMS Healthcare, Firelands Regional Medical Center, Fisher Titus Medical Center, Crown Battery, Ronald McDonald House, Tonia Maxwell Allstate Insurance, Underground Utilities, Inc., and Cleveland Clinic. |

Past Grant Recipients
Therapy Dog Project:
Huron High School's Teen Leadership Corps Class The class will work with Riley's Angels to implement a service dog to help students deal with emotional issues, as well as grief due to recent suicide losses in their district. Knowing the healing power that animals have for those who are struggling, they plan to create a supportive, inclusive environment for their students. They were inspired by Eric's love of animals to create this project, and are hoping that their efforts leave a lasting pawprint to help every student move 4WARD. |
Dude, Be Nice Project:
Newcomerstown High School's Teen Leadership Corps Class The class will create a week of activities to spread positivity and kindness to others to create a family atmosphere at their school. They'll focus on recognizing unsung heroes who sometimes aren't otherwise applauded for their efforts that impact others, and people who could use a little more kindness in their lives. This project coincides with the many efforts that Eric made to help people who just needed someone on their side to move 4WARD. |
